Reddit Marketing MCP

Get your Reddit posts seen without leaving your AI chat. MCP is the open standard that lets AI apps like Claude and Cursor use outside tools. Connect Upvote.net, and your agent can order upvotes, comments, replies, and new posts, buy Reddit accounts, or scrape threads for ideas.

What your agents can do

Ask in plain English. Your agent picks the right tool, runs it, and reports back in the same chat.

  1. Know what you can spend before you start

Ask one question and see every balance at once, so you can plan a campaign around what’s left. Checking never spends anything.

    • Account, vote, and scraper balances in one answer
    • Read-only, so nothing gets ordered
    • Ask again any time to see what’s left

    Check your balance

  2. Push launch posts up the feed

Share a post link and ask for upvotes. Your agent creates the order, then reports progress whenever you ask.

    • One order per post link
    • Progress updates in the same chat
    • Works for subreddits on your dashboard allowlist

  3. Start the conversation under your post

Ask for comments on a thread. Your agent creates each one as a task and tracks it until it’s live.

    • Several comments from one request
    • A status for every comment
    • Cancel an unpublished comment for a refund

  4. Answer every comment, even when you’re busy

Tell your agent which comment to answer and what to say. It drafts the reply with you, then queues it under that comment.

    • Reply to any comment on your posts
    • Edit the reply together before it goes out
    • Follow it until it’s published

  5. Publish new posts without opening Reddit

  6. Find out what your audience is talking about

Run a Reddit scrape from the chat. For example, ask what r/SaaS is talking about this week, then download the full results to plan your next posts.

    • Scrape a subreddit without leaving the chat
    • Spot the topics people engage with
    • Download the results when the run finishes

Connect with your API key.

Grab a key from your dashboard, then hand your agent one prompt. It sets up the server for you.

  1. Get your key

Open the API key page in your dashboard and copy a key.

  2. Let your agent install it

Copy the prompt, swap rk_live_... for your key, and paste it into your agent. It adds the server for you.

  3. Ask a read-only question

Try “How much balance do I have?” before anything that spends.

Prompt for your agent

Install the Upvote.net MCP server for me.

- Name: upvote
- URL: https://api.upvote.net/v1/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Header: X-API-Key: rk_live_...

Add it to your MCP settings, then check that it works by asking for my Upvote.net balance.

Works in agents that can edit their own MCP settings, likeClaude Code,Codex andCursor.

Prefer to set it up by hand?

~/.cursor/mcp.json

Paste this into the file and save it.

Reddit Marketing MCP FAQs

What is the Upvote.net MCP server?

It connects your Upvote.net account to AI apps that support MCP, like Claude, Cursor, and Codex. Your agent can then check balances, place orders, create comment and post tasks, browse accounts, and run scrapes through the same V1 API, using only the tools your API key allows.

Do I need a separate MCP account?

No. Use your existing Upvote.net account and create an API key in the dashboard. The MCP tools act as that account.

Can the assistant spend my balance?

Yes. Some tools spend wallet funds, vote credits, or scraper credit. Anyone with your API key can use them, so keep the key private and review each spending action in your client.

How do I revoke access?

Rotate your API key in the dashboard. Every MCP client using the old key disconnects immediately. Then update the clients you still want to use.

Is this the same as the REST API?

The MCP tools act through the same V1 API and use the same error codes. If you’re building your own integration, the REST API documentation is also available.

My client returns 401 or “unauthorized.” What should I check?

Check that the header name is exactly X-API-Key and that the key is your current one. Rotating a key disconnects every client using the old key, so update each client after a rotation.

My client can’t send custom headers. Can I still connect?

Yes. Use the mcp-remote bridge shown in the Claude Desktop setup. It runs locally through npx, connects to the endpoint, and sends your key in the X-API-Key header for you.

Start with a read-only question.

Here’s how to start: get your key, paste the install prompt into your agent, and ask for your balance. Turn on spending tools after you’ve seen how your client handles approvals.
